Material: Commercial cotton, yarn dyed cotton, repurposed linen, silk and cotton.
Dimensions: 50×50 inches, 127×127 cm
Technique: Improvisationally designed, machine pieced and machine quilted.
Description:
Plump red strawberries, fresh strawberry preserves and shortcake – the beginnings of a delicious summer tea. The taste of the first strawberry hidden from view and perfectly ripe; smell of sugar and berries cooking in a large canning pot; and stained fingertips. All of these images contribute to the selections made during the improvisationally pieced quilt: Strawberry Social.
From the humble cottons in pale pink, the intense burgundy red, the repurposed monogrammed linen napkin and the luxurious gleaming silks – all images of a strawberry tea party Downton Abbey style!
Hanging: A hanging sleeve is stitched on the back. It is easy to hang with a 48” rod and 2 small nails that you will need to provide.
Care:
Avoid placing in direct sunlight.
A lint roller will keep it dust free.
Occasionally, to keep dust from accumulating, carefully vacuum on low setting. Place a stocking or sheer netting over the cleaner hose to keep any pieces from pulling loose.
Air outside on an overcast day in the shade on a flat, clean surface. Or, air fluff in the dryer with no heat to refresh.
